The Bachelor of Marine Science with Honours has been developed to provide students with advanced knowledge and scientific training in a specialised area of marine science; training in research as preparation for employment in a research organisation or for postgraduate study in Masters or PhD programs; and equip students with knowledge, skills, competencies and awareness in preparation for employment in industry.

The Bachelor of Antarctic Studies with Honours, offered by the Institute of Antarctic and Southern Ocean Studies (IASOS) combines a general overview of Antarctic and Southern Ocean matters with specialist training in a research topic, generally within physical sciences, biological sciences, law, polity, international relations, environmental management, or polar technology.
