Tasmanian Aquaculture and Fisheries Institute (TAFI)
TAFI supports the development and sustainable management of Tasmania’s living marine resources and is a centre of excellence in applied marine research. TAFI was established in 1998 as a joint venture between DPIWE and the University of Tasmania (including the Schools of Aquaculture and Zoology).

Cooperative Research Centre for Forestry (CRC for Forestry)
The CRC for Forestry is a collaborative venture between forestry companies, governments, universities and the CSIRO. Research concentrates upon plantation species: managing and monitoring for growth and health, high-value wood resources, harvesting and operations, and trees in the landscape.
