Program 2 - Formation

Contact: d.cooke@utas.edu.au
Program 2 researches mechanisms of ore genesis. We are developing process-based exploration models through detailed evaluation of the structural, sedimentary, volcanic, hydrothermal and magmatic phenomena fundamental to high-grade ore formation. Read More....

Exploration and environmental geophysics

Contact: Michael.Roach@utas.edu.au
Our geophysics program has an emphasis on potential field, electromagnetic and electrical methods and petrophysical studies.

Igneous petrology and geochemistry

Contact: Tony.Crawford@utas.edu.au
Our research emphasis is on the tectono-magmatic evolution of Western Pacific-type arc-backarc settings, the oceanic crust, and ophiolites in foldbelts. Applications of host rock lithogeochemistry and affinities to exploration for volcanic-related ore deposits.

Honours Projects

Contact: Garry.Davidson@utas.edu.au
The CODES honours program attracts students from around Australia who want to undertake a specialised course with an emphasis on different mineral districts, ore deposit geochemistry, isotope chemistry, volcanic and tectonic environments as well as geophysical exploration and environmental geology.
