First year psychology really grabbed my attention and second year drew me away from my biochemistry goal although I did complete by biochemistry major. In second year I particularly enjoyed clinical psychology, individual differences and surprisingly research & statistics. Apart from that there was also a great boy/girl ratio! Currently I am working for the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Services where I help people who are on government income support and have suffered an illness, injury or disability, get back into the workforce. I do lots of counselling and case management for my clients and I also do job capacity assessments which assess how many hours a person can realistically work after suffering an illness, injury or disability.

How has psychology studies helped you in you job: Certainly with being able to counsel clients, I do a LOT of counselling. Also my studies have helped me understand the psychological issues that affect my clients, particularly depression and anxiety. I also may be beginning a casual position with a organisational psychology company where will be marking survey and writing reports and I will get to use my 3 years of statistics.
