Information Technology Facilities

The School operates with more than 150 IBM-PC compatible computers, several Apple Macintosh computers, several B/W,colour,A4,A3 laser printers, colour scanner and a range of specialised experimental hardware.
All the computers are connected to CISCO based fully switched 100/1000 Mbps LAN and through AARNet (Australian Academic and Research Network) to the Internet. The School runs three Novel Netware OES servers for file and print services and CA ArcServe R11.5 backup system. Human Motor Control Lab is using Sun Microsystem's Blade 1500 and Ultra5 workstations running Solaris 10 for large data manipulation. The ERP lab is using SuSE 10.0 Linux based file server for storage of their large sets of data.

The School has two main teaching labs.

Hobart Campus, Humanities Building, 214/215
The Hobart Lab is equipped by 30 Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E6300/1.8G (HP) computers and two Lexmark T644n printers.

Newnham Campus, Building O, 001
The Launceston lab is equipped by 20 Intel Pentium IV/2.86G(HP) and Lexmark T644n printer.
