My research group focuses on three areas

    Population and conservation genetics
    Reproductive biology
    Genomics of Eucalyptus

Research Interests

My research involves studying the natural history and genome structures of Tasmanian plants species. We use molecular tools to better the conservation of rare and endangered plant species as well as devise plans to conserve the still exant genetic diversity of widespread plants. We are heavily involved in reproductive biology reasearch in order to understand the factors affecting gene flow and seed production of Eucalyptus. As part of my involvement in the CRC for Sustainable Production Forestry we use molecular tools to discover the genes that have key roles in important physical traits in Eucalyptus such as pest and stress resistance, wood properties, flowering time etc.
