Scholarships and Bursaries

The Tasmania Scholarships Program gives outstanding students significant financial and academic support to study at the University of Tasmania. Scholarships are offered in a wide range of disciplines and selection is based on academic merit. They are available for students studying for degrees at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels.

Alister Tavendale Memorial Scholarship

The Alister Tavendale Memorial Scholarship has been set up in memory of Dr Tavendale who completed his doctorate at the University of Tasmania in 1963 and was joint recipient of the American Nuclear Society's Radiation Industry Award. Following his death in 1989, his family friends and colleagues at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) have contributed towards the endowment of this scholarship for outstanding students in Physics.

Summer Research Scholarships

The school offers scholarships for students undertaking research for 6 weeks over the summer break.
