Julia has a BA from Murdoch University, Western Australia, majoring in Politics, Philosophy and Sociology. She studied for her Honours with IASOS in 1991 and obtained a scholarship from the Law Foundation of Tasmania for a PhD, also with IASOS, which was completed in 1995.
Research Interests
Julia has a strong multidisciplinary interest in all aspects of Antarctic law, policy, international relations, environmental management, ethics, science, intellectual property and publishes widely on all of these topics.
Teaching
Julia teaches the law and policy components within the IASOS Honours and IAI Masters course. She also teaches Antarctic Tourism, a fully online, cross campus and cross institutional unit, and International Marine Management
