The Institute of Antarctic and Southern Ocean Studies (IASOS) offers an undergraduate science degree, and graduate diploma, honours, coursework masters, research masters and PhD programs for students to study a range of environmental topics with specific reference to Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.

The Master of Antarctic Science (MAntSc) is a specialised masters degree course in polar marine biology. It provides students with advanced instruction and training in emerging approaches and technologies in marine biology. This unit, focusing on four themes, will examine scientific advice being provided to managers on Antarctic conservation issues.

 IASOSA full understanding of all aspects of the functioning of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean is vital to Australia and the World.
IASOS provides undergraduate, Honours and postgraduate-level training in all areas pertaining to the southern polar regions.
Through research training, students are directly involved with national and international programs of the Cooperative Research Centre for Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems (ACE CRC).
