Geography and Environmental Studies Resource Centre

Hobart Campus, Geography-Geology Building, 108-110

Conversations around chocolate 'scats', outside Resource Centre

The Resource Centre provides access to information resources for staff and students of the School in a relaxed and friendly study environment.

The Centre houses a collection of approximately 23,000 maps. A substantial number of these are Tasmanian and Australian, and many have historical significance. An aerial photograph collection (primarily Tasmanian coverage) is also housed in the Centre.

There is, in addition, a thesis collection (1957- present) of 800+ original works completed in honours, masters and doctoral programs, spanning many disciplines. Individual works may be accessed and/or borrowed by staff, students and other libraries.

Reference and service assistance is available to all patrons. The Centre is particularly supportive of undergraduates, for whom the research culture may be new. Office hours are 10am to 4pm.
