Career Summary

Graduated from UTAS in 1997 with BE First Class Hons (University Medallist), and worked for WBM Consulting Engineers 1/98 – 10/98. DPhil research as a Rhodes Scholar at University of Oxford between 10/1998 until 2001 in the Osney Laboratory on the project “Development of a novel film cooling geometry for gas turbine applications” which was funded by Rolls Royce plc. Commenced as a Research Fellow at the University of Tasmania in 2001.


Research Interests

Experimental and Computational Fluid dynamics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer with the following applications:

  • Turbomachinery
  • Film cooling
  • Near wall flows with biological and engineered roughness elements
  • Renewable energy and power generation,
  • Vehicle aerodynamics and hydrodynamics, drag minimisation flow measurement and visualisation
  • Instrumentation and measurement systems design
