Trip to Catagunyah

First year engineering students had a unique experience recently with a trip to Catagunyah Dam and Power Station to view refurbishment on the Dam wall. The Dam's foundation required strengthening and a large program of re-anchoring the dam wall to the bedrock with prestressing cables is being undertaken by Hydro Tasmania. The students benefited from seeing this major construction activity up close and the School of Engineering wishes to thank Hydro Staff, particularly David Jamrozik and Angus Swindon for organizing the tour.
