The following projects are undertaken in the research area of Geology of Tasmania
Structural history of central Tasmania. Geometry and timing of deformation in the Permo-Triassic Tasmania Basin and Early-Middle Palaeozoic fold-thrust belt derived from field and seismic data. (Doctorate)
The School of Earth Sciences currently has three APA(I) PhD Postgraduate (Industry) Scholarships available to suitable candidates interested in studying petroleum systems in and below the onshore Permo-Triassic Tasmania Basin. The industry partner, Great South Land Minerals, has just completed a major seismic acquisition program and plans to begin a drilling program in early 2002.
