The Graduate Diploma of Science with Honours allows non-science graduates to obtain the necessary prerequisites for higher degrees in Science. It is a one year minimum course offered by all the Science schools of the Faculty.

The Master of Applied Science is a four semester full-time or eight semester part-time course offered on the Hobart and Launceston campuses by most Schools of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.

This is a specialised master degree course (min 2 yrs) in Economic Geology for industry and government geologists. It forms the nucleus of the postgraduate teaching program at the Centre for Ore Deposit Research (CODES). From 2001 the course formed part of the National Masters Program sponsored by the Minerals Council of Australia and the DETYA Science Lectureship Scheme.
