Program 1 - Location

Researchers in Program 1 work across a range of scales from continents to crystals with the aim of identifying the key tectonic, magmatic and volcanic influences on the formation and location of major ore deposits. In particular, we focus on the relationships between magmatism, tectonics and mineralisation in modern and ancient West Pacific-type settings. Program 1 also hosts one of the best equipped and most productive melt inclusion laboratories internationally.
