Honours Projects: Start February 2010

SOME HONOURS PROJECTS HAVE EXTRA PERSONAL, TAX-FREE STIPENDS:

November 2009

$5000: Alkalic porphyry Au-Cu mineralization at Warrengong, near Cadia, NSW. Sponsor: Newcrest Mining.

$5000: Calc-alkaline porphyry Cu-Au mineralisation at Marsden, central NSW. Sponsor: Newcrest Mining.

Tasmanian Government Mining Scholarships ($5500; forms are attached below) e-mail Garry.Davidson@utas.edu.au for further details. These are competitive scholarships offered in June and December of each year. Although they are not tied to particular projects, the thesis topic must be deemed to be relevant to the Tasmanian economy. Applicants should have at least a credit average in their third year subjects (ie a Credit level is 60-70%). Mainland applicants will also receive a $1000 relocation allowance payable upon provision of receipts.

Relocation Scholarships ($1000): Mainland and overseas students may apply for these scholarships to assist their arrival and departure from Tasmania, regardless of their success with other types of scholarships.
