CODES undertakes multidisciplinary research in close association with industry on ore deposit location, formation, discovery and recovery including: igneous petrology; geochemistry; melt/fluid inclusions and magma genesis; hydrothermal systems; volcanology; structure; tectonics geophysics; geometallurgy.

EXPLORATION ON THE EDGE

27-29 October 2008
A three-day workshop on exploring on the periphery of mineralised systems, recognising distal alteration and vectoring into the core of a system.

Six half-day sessions in which the current understanding of each style of mineralisation (epithermal gold, orogenic gold, iron ore, IOCG, sediment-hosted Cu, and Mt Isa Cu) is presented by academic experts followed by case examples of successful exploration for the deposit style by exploration geologists.
