GenesisLite (Staff)

 Members: Ian Lewis
A second implementation of Genesis (the language that was the result of my PhD) that uses a packrat parser instead of Graph Expansion Parsing. This version downplays the importance of delayed macros, well, actually, doesn't support them.

Distributed Mandelbrot Database (Staff)

 Members: Ian Lewis
A Mandelbrot set implementation that allows multi-threaded/processor rendering, disk caching, network caching, and distributed renders. This work has a unique precise labelling for each sector of the Mandelbrot set and incorporates a GoogleMaps style interface.

P. Uren (PhD) - Applications of Machine Learning in Bioinformatics (Doctorate)

Supervisors: Mike Cameron-Jones , Arthur Sale  Members: Philip Uren
The regulation of gene expression is not only complex, but distributed throughout large datasets. The focus of this research is on developing computational methods for finding and characterising regulatory elements within DNA. Read More....

J. Scanlan (PhD) - Multiple Gateway Correlation and Detection using Intelligent Mobile Agents (Doctorate)

Supervisors: Jacky Hartnett , Ray Williams  Members: Joel Scanlan
The project aims to collate information from a range of data sources to build activity profiles. The data is continuous in nature and as such the classification needs to occur at real-time. The work commenced within the security domain, but is now operating within other knowledge domains.

J. Adamczewski (PhD) - Producing Parallel Programs with the GNU Compiler Collection (Doctorate)

Supervisors: Julian Dermoudy , Arthur Sale  Members: Jonathan Adamczewski
The synopsis for this project is yet to be advised.
