After graduation from the Faculty of Pharmacy Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, I got a Masters in Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry in 2002. In 2005 I was granted a scholarship paid by the Egyptian government to obtain PhD from Australia and I arrived at the university of Tasmania in November 2005.
My research interest is related to the capillary electrophoretic analysis of pharmaceuticals in water samples with online pre-concentration techniques. The selected compounds for study are acidic pharmaceuticals such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and hypolipidaemic drugs which their continuous environmental input may lead to a high long-term concentration and promote continual, but unnoticed adverse effects on aquatic and terrestrial organisms.
