Dr Greg W. Dicinoski is a PhD and BAppSci Hons graduate from the Central Queensland University. Prior to this position he has been a Post-Doctorial Research Fellow and Senior Research Scientist with Mintek in South Africa; and a lecturer in Chemistry at the University of South Africa, in Pretoria.

Research Interests

His research interests revolve around the general areas of analytical (in particular separation science) and physical chemistry, along with hydrometallurgy, industrial, synthetic and computational chemistry. Some very broad areas of research include the development of novel extractants for the mining industry, separation media, novel, improved and more efficient analytical analysis, separation and monitoring techniques, particularly for the solution to real world problems such as for counter-terrorism,environmental and pharmaceutical analysis. His research also investigates the fundamental mechanisms of chromatographic separations, and the development of simulation and training programs. He is interested in the development of CAI and Internet Tuition packages, and the implementation of more flexible teaching methods

Research Areas:

Teaching

My teaching interests lie in the disciplines of analytical, physical, industrial and environmental chemistry, taught at all levels of the undergraduate program. Within these disciplines I teach in the fields of separation science, chromatography, spectroscopy, electrochemistry, data handling and sampling, thermodynamics, acid-base chemistry, equilibria, and general chemistry. Apart from the theory aspect, I also teach the practical side of these disciplines in a laboratory programs.
