Career Summary

I began my academic career with a B.A (Hons) and LLB (Hons) (in 1982 and 1984 respectively) from Melbourne University, and then proceeded down the regular path of admission to practice in Victoria in 1985 after doing my articles with Hedderwick, Fookes & Alston. After two years as a practising solicitor I headed overseas, and took my Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1994. I then lectured and tutored at Sheffield University until 2001, when I returned to Australia as a Senior Lecturer at Monash University, and took on responsibility for running the new JD/LLM (LP), as well as teaching in both Property and Equity. In 2006 I came to Hobart.
