Career Summary
I hold undergraduate degrees in Law, Arts and Education and a Ph.D. in international fisheries law. I have 20 years experience teaching public international law, including postgraduate supervision at the University of Tasmania and Edith Cowan University. I have published extensively in texts and international marine journals and I have been the recipient of Australian Research Council grant funding. I have been a legal consultant to domestic and international organisations including UNFAO (1998) Regional Fishery Management Organisations, UNFAO (2004) Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem, WorldFish Center (2006) Maximum Sustainable Yield in Developing Archipelagic States, UNFAO (2008) Global Record, and UNFAO (2009) on Flag State Responsibilities.

Research Interests
My research focus is enhanced compliance with regional and international marine capture fishery laws. My research covers all geographic regions, but I have a particular interest in fisheries as food security in developing states.
