Choose Area:   Law

The Faculty of Law offers a wide and varied undergraduate and postgraduate degree program for students interested in obtaining careers in law-related areas.

The School of Law offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. These include the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Laws with Honours, combined degrees (with Arts, Commerce, Computing, Economics, Information Systems and Science), Master of Laws, and the Doctor of Philosophy. The Bachelor of Laws is a three year program with the prerequisite that the students have successfully completed another year in another faculty, or that they have already attained a bachelor degree. The combined degrees structure involves five years of full time study. Honours are awarded on the basis of results achieved through the degree program. The Bachelor of Laws, including the combined degrees develops the attributes and shills inherent in general university education. Students
develop the values and intellectual abilities necessary to marshal facts and to critically assess and evaluate information, theories and doctrines thus preparing themselves for a variety of career roles.

The Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice is a six month full time course offered by the Centre for Legal Studies and serves as a link between university study and admission as a barrister and solicitor.
