Career Summary
With backgrounds in both Nursing and Information Technology, Andy originally trained as a Registered Nurse in England. His nursing career includes acute and community mental health, both in the United Kingdon and around Australia. He ran a 'shared care in mental health' project for the Central Sydney Area Health Service and was involved with developing and managing health information systems for the Sydney Region.
Before joining UTas in 2008, Andy taught Information Technology and Enrolled Nursing at the Tasmanian Polytechnic. He is now responsible for developing and teaching immersive simulation at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, including the technical aspects of simulation delivery. Andy provides technical and clinical input into the undergraduate and post-graduate programmes as well as being an ACRM Instructor for the Simulation and Clinical Education Centre (SCEC).
Andy is a Justice of the Peace for Tasmania and can be contacted by UTas staff and students within Tasmania for assistance with legal undertakings such as sighting documents, verifying copies and witnessing signatures.
