Robyn originally worked in the field of European languages and high school education and began her nursing degree in 1992. Post registration, she worked in surgical nursing and then gained qualifications in midwifery and child health. She has also worked in community nursing and health promotion. Robyn moved to Tasmania from Perth, Western Australia in 2006 where she taught in the undergraduate nursing programme at Edith Cowan University. She is currently Lecturer within the School of Nursing and Midwifery and in 2008 to mid 2009 held the position of Course Co-ordinator of the Undergraduate Programme.
Research Interests
In 2006 she completed a Master in International Health through Curtin University, Western Australia with a strong focus in mental primary health care and in particular postnatal depression. She also worked in collaboration with Curtin University and Ngala Parenting Resource Centre, Western Australia on a Delphi Study to establish the research priorities of clinical staff and early childhood educators at Ngala.
Robyn is currently completing her PhD with the UTAS School of Nursing & Midwifery in Primary Health Care/Mental Health Promotion in early parenting.
Teaching
Robyn is currently Lecturer in the School of Nursing & Midwifery and co-ordinates units in the area of Primary Health Care and Child and Adolescent Health. She also teaches in the units Health and Physical Assessment and Perspectives on Ageing.
