Melanie provides leadership in the development and teaching of units for the Graduate Certificate in Nursing by promoting and supporting a dynamic and diverse range of student and lecturer online engagement strategies. Responsibilities include providing academic leadership in developing flexible teaching and learning strategies, ensuring units meet the SNM teaching and learning agenda and the needs of practice. This is achieved through strong links between health care agencies in Tasmania and interstate.
Career Summary
As a Registered Nurse, Melanie has coordinated and taught in the specialist streams of critical care nursing and teaching and learning at the postgraduate level for a number of years. She has a strong professional profile within critical care nursing, particularly within resuscitation education and the deteriorating patient.
Research Interests
Her current research is focussed upon the deteriorating patient. She is also active within the area of quality and safety, resuscitation and simulation.
