Judy has experience in acute paediatric, medical, diabetes education, midwifery, and family and child health nursing. University teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate level since 1991. In 2005 Judy was appointed Deputy Head of School and Director of Teaching and Learning.
Judy has utilised both qualitative and quantitative
methods. She prefers the qualitative
approach to research, specifically grounded
theory. Studies she has undertaken include 'Promoting health
through information giving', 'Care of a premature baby at home',
'The process of integrating the ANMC competencies by preregistration
nursing students' and 'Measuring preparedness for self directed
learning'. Judy holds the positions of Deputy Head of School, Director
of Teaching & Learning and Associate Professor Academic
Programs and supervises Masters and PhD candidates. Her clinical
interest is in midwifery and family and child health.
