Chronic Disease Research Colloquium (Staff)

This project, due to be ran in August 2008, will focus on chronic disease in broad terms, however, it will include a particular focus on CDSM. The concept of self-management has been applied to the management of chronic conditions. These include symptom action plans, client diaries, care-planning for chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes, as well as cognitive and behavioural treatments for chronic low back pain. The colloquium outcomes will be a set of interrelated activities for progressing a chronic disease research program involving development of partnerships between the Faculty of Health Science and Menzies. Each of these will be led by a researcher identified prior to the colloquium. After the colloquium, outcomes will be synthesised into a research framework for chronic disease research that will be carried forward by a small group of project leaders.
