Social Norms Analysis Project (SNAP) (Staff)

Funded by the Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Foundation Ltd, this project is a joint initiative with the Tasmanian Institute of Law Enforcement Studies (TILES) and will trial an evidence-based strategy for reducing alcohol-related harm by identifying and correcting misperceptions of peer attitudes and behaviours surrounding alcohol comsumption.
The project aims to:
- determine the extent of mispreception regarding alcohol use and associated harms through the collection fo baseline and contextual data;
- develop an implementation strategy, identify potential community characteristics which would impact on the success of the project;
- create and disseminate appropriate resources to support the trial;
- generate a model, including appropriate recommendations, for replication in other communities within Australia.
