Professional development strategy for people working in mental health: professional and ethical conduct pilot (Staff)Project Completion: 2006
The broad objective of the Mental Health Integrated Professional Development Strategy was to address key issues arising from the investigation into ward 1E at the Launceston General Hospital, and Mental Health Services (MHS) in northern Tasmania, in an attempt to promote long term change in the culture and practices in mental health.
This was achieved through the long-term implementation of a multi-level, multi-disciplinary professional development program. The pilot project formed Phase 1 of the strategy and designed and trialed a focused education program in ward 1E. The pilot project will:
design and deliver a defined and focused program of information, education and support activities at the pilot site;
recommend ways to link the program to performance management and quality improvement; and
construct an evaluation plan for the pilot program.
