Project

Pharmacy Academics UDRH (Staff)

Project Commencement:

1 July 2007

Project Conclusion:

30 June 2009

This project is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) through the Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s Pharmacist Academics at University Departments of Rural Health scheme (PAUDRH).

The scheme has been established to raise the profile of rural pharmacy within UDRH and Schools of Pharmacy and to enable Pharmacy graduates to acquire the necessary skills to practice effectively in rural areas.

For Tasmania this welcome initiative builds on and will enhance and extend the excellent working relationship between the UDRH and the School of Pharmacy. It will allow the UDRH and the School of Pharmacy to consolidate and grow the rural Pharmacy program and provide mentoring and educational support to rural pharmacy preceptors.

The UDRH and the School of Pharmacy established two conjoint rural academic positions, one based in the south of the state, the other in the north/north west.
