Development of the Tasmanian Ambulance Service Volunteer Handbook (Staff)
Project commencement date:
October 2007
Project completion date:
April 2008
Background
The Tasmanian Ambulance Service need to research and design a volunteer handbook that will assist Tasmanian ambulance volunteers to access appropriate policies and procedures. Dr Chrstine Stirling, in hand with Suzanne Crowley, both from the UDRH, will undertake this project in order to assist the recruitment and retention of rural ambulance volunteers and to support a high standard of rural health care.
Project Plan
Dr Stirling and Ms Crowley will consult with appropriate Tasmanian Ambulance Service personnel to design the volunteer handbook. Suzanne will scope the range of policies and procedures that need to be included and the most suitable format for ease of use. Tasmanian Ambulance will provide a steering group to review the policies and procedures that are to be included within the handbook. Those policies that have been reviewed within the timeframe of the project will be included in the handbook; otherwise space will be allowed for future policy revisions.
