Objectives
This new project is working with Orbost Regional Health in Victoria to evaluate a new model for increasing community participation in the operation and direction of a rural community health service. The project is funded by the Victorian Department of Human Services under their "Evaluating Effectiveness of Participation" Projects funding. Research design involves an interrupted time series with six data points.
The results of the study will be used by the Victorian Department of Human Services in mkaing policy decisions about the future roll-out and support of community participation models. The results will also be published academically and if the model can be shown to be effective, the UDRH is likely to promote and support local roll-out.
