Karla is an Associate Lecturer in Rural Health and teaches units in the Graduate Certificate/Diploma in E-Health (Health Informatics). She also coordinates the UDRH’s Continuing Professional Development Program, which provides training opportunities to Tasmanian health professionals and community workers, particularly those from rural areas.

As Student Support Officer, Karla coordinates the UDRH’s student support programs which include Rural and Remote Funds for Bachelor of Nursing Students, Allied Health Student Support, and the Rural Health Teaching Site network. Karla is also employed as the Rural Health Week Liaison Officer, providing support to Regional Planning Groups and acting as a liaison between the groups and the State Planning Committee.
