The Rotary Club of Wynyard Scholarship in Rural Medicine


Overview

The Rotary Club of Wynyard has awarded this scholarship to a student commencing the final two years of clinical studies in the MBBS at the Rural Clinical School in 2007 and again in 2009. The scholarship aims to encourage and support a student with an interest in rural medicine to study at the RCS. The scholarship is offered over a two-year period, subject to the recipient's satisfactory performance, and will be valued at $2,500 per annum.

Eligibility

Applicants must be commencing either Year 4 (or the five-year MBBS) or Year 5 (of the six-year MBBS) at the University’s Rural Clinical School, and intending to complete their final two years of study with the RCS. Students must demonstrate an interest in rural medicine, undertake a General Practice attachment at the Wynyard Doctors Surgery as part of the curriculum in their penultimate year, and commit to being involved with the Rotary Club of Wynyard as a guest member

Amount

$2,500 per annum

Duration

Two years, subject to satisfactory performance.
