Hobart's airport is located in a quiet spot, about 25km from Hobart and is quite bare. Yet Shen recalls when he first arrived at the airport - he thought he had landed somewhere undeveloped! Upon crossing the Tasman Bridge the city of Hobart comes well into view and Yet Shen knew his first impression was not correct, he was pleasantly surprised! Although he had always hoped to study in the computer science area - or even electrical and electronic engineering, he enjoyed the pharmacy course.
He liked the fact that the lecturers know student's names - he says it made him feel part of a big family. Yet Shen spent his free time surfing the net, playing computer and video games, watching movies and visiting his friends. He travelled to various parts of Tasmania and says the people are friendly and always prepared to help when you are in trouble (I hope that's not often, Yet Shen!).
