Dr Jacobson completed his PhD at UTas in 1996 in airways disease pharmacotherapy. He has worked in population health research (Menzies Centre for Population Health Research, now Menzies Research Institute), the pharmaceutical industry (Biometrics, Roche Products Pty Ltd) and commercial analytical laboratories.

Dr Jacobson commenced an academic appointment as Lecturer (Pharmaceutics) in the School in 2001. Since this appointment Dr Jacobson has developed a new pharmaceutics research program within the School from the ground up with a strong emphasis on bio-analytical applications particularly in the areas of airways disease, antioxidants and natural product drug discovery.

Consultancies

In addition to research, Dr Jacobson actively undertakes a variety of pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry consultancies both with Australian and International clients.

Dr Jacobson's role as a consultant focuses on difficult and specialised bio-analytical applications and method development for novel drug delivery and biotechnology research. Areas of expertise include chiral assays and peptide analyses both from novel dosage forms and biological matrices. For new project enquiries, please contact Dr Jacobson via email.
