Stuart McLean is a graduate of the University of Sydney and has has worked at the University of New South Wales and several universities in Europe and North America. In 2006 he was elected a Life Member of the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Metabolism of drugs and other chemicals; clinical pharmacology; drug analysis; harm minimisation with social drugs; chemical ecology.
