This is the first named medical research degree in Australia. It will
prepare students for careers in medical research by providing an
understanding of the structure and function of healthy human cells, tissues,
organs and systems, as well as of the abnormal genetic, cellular and
systemic changes that characterise human diseases and conditions.

This on-campus full time course takes a minimum of 5 years to complete. The first 3 years of the course are studied in Hobart. Years 4 and 5 will involve a series of clinical rotations, including some electives, at Clinical Schools in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie.
