Frank has Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Melbourne University Medical School. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Frank is a practicing GP and has lectured in the School since 2004.
Research Interests
Frank provides assistance in the Exercise Fatigue and Recovery project in which the effects of intense training periods undertaken by well-trained athletes and measurement of the recovery of functional and perceived performance are measured. The effects of ageing on these recovery variables is a major focus.
Research in this area has included the assessment of exercise-induced muscle damage and delayed onset muscle soreness as a result of training and competition.
Teaching
Frank is the unit coordinator for CXA222 Histopathology and CXA212 Pathology of Common Diseases, taught to Biomedical and Health Science students.
Frank also teaches anatomy and pathophysiology to students in the Bachelor of Nursing.
