Professor Madeleine Ball has a background in clinical medicine, chemical pathology and health education. She has worked in several countries, including the UK and New Zealand and has broad interests. Madeleine serves on many University of Tasmania and State committees.
Research Interests
Recent or current projects include -
The effects of chickpeas on physiology and metabolism (with Jane Pittaway) and interstate collaborators;
The short and longer term effects of chilli ingestion on physiological and metabolic factors (with A/P D.Geraghty and Dr K.Ahuja);
Selenium status (with School of Pharmacy and PhD student J.Beckett);
Nutritional status in Defence Personel (with Defence Science and Technology Organisation).
Effects of exercise in the elderly (with Dr A.Williams, F.Martin (School of Psychology) and Marie-Lousie Bird (School of Human Life Sciences).
