Research Interests
Dr Kim Beswick’s teaching area is mathematics education and this expertise is underpinned by her research activities. A central research interest is mathematics teachers’ beliefs and their impact on their classroom practices. Dr Beswick’s interest in teachers’ beliefs also informs her other areas of research interest, namely: professional learning for teachers of mathematics (ARC Linkage grant 2005-2007; IRGS grant 2005); pre-service teacher education in the area of mathematics (Teaching Development grant 2006); and effective teaching of mathematics for numeracy for students with mathematics learning difficulties (AGQTP consultancy 2004). Dr Beswick is a recipient of Teaching Merit certificates in 2005 and 2006.
