INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE The Faculty of Education offers opportunities for students enrolled in full-time courses to undertake academic study (usually one semester) at an institution which the University has a formal exchange program. Whilst the University of Tasmania has many formal exchange arrangements with many international partner institutions, the Faculty of Education has selected a smaller number of these partner institutions for its approved exchange programs. These institutions offer programs which are more closely aligned with the Faculty's own programs, goals and strategic plan. Our current international partners are: For pre-service/undergraduate Education students For post-graduate Education students FURTHER INFORMATION... Message from Malmo, Sweden... by Jemma Dobson, UTAS student on international exchange
Just a message from Malmö. Well, arrival day went smoothly. I hopped off the train into the station and there was someone to greet me. The accommodation is nice and the people here are very welcoming. Bianca, some other Australians and I have already held an Aussie BBQ and my lamingtons were a smashing success.
The introduction programme has been full on but so exciting. I have made so many contacts and friends from all over the world. There is about 15 Australians, 10 French, 20 Germans, one girl from Norway, 10-12 from Spain, girls from Austria, Turkey, one girl from the USA, and many more from Asian countries like South Korea and Japan.
Bianca and I are on the same floor on at either end, we both have purchased bicycles though I am more of a fan of the bus!! It is a weird sensation to ride without a helmet on the opposite of the road.
Every day we seem to go somewhere and do something, the international students are very keen to hang out; we have celebrated birthdays and taken a trip to Copenhagen already!!
