The honours program is an additional year of the Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education course for selected students. The course provides students with the opportunity to engage in AVE research at an appropriate level as preparation for further higher degree study.

This course is for teachers who have at least three years teaching experience and who have completed at least a three-year education qualification. For those students who wish to pursue a higher degree by research this honours program provides a sound basis for future study.

This is an alternative final year of the Bachelor of Education course; one which is offered to some students. Student in year three of the Bachelor fo Education course are able to express their interest in undertaking the final year as an honours student.
