Career Summary
During the 1990’s I worked as an economist for London Underground (the Tube). The challenge that work provided, in analysing the London business environment from an economic perspective, informs both my research and teaching.
Research Interests
I am interested in how firms formulate their pricing strategies; how they set initial prices; how they price discriminate; and how they adjust prices (if they do) to demand and cost changes. I am also interested in how firms use the concept of price elasticity in their pricing strategies.
Teaching
I am currently teaching the first year undergraduate units: BEA110 Economics for Business (Launceston Campus), BEA130 Foundations of Economic Policy (Launceston and Burnie Campus) and BEA325 Prices and Profits (Launceston Campus). My other teaching interests include pricing principles and practice and transport economics.
