Colin Norton Memorial Tasmania University Scholarship

Mr Colin Norton has bequeathed at least $30,000 to the University. Mr Norton asked that the gift be used to assist Tasmanian students deserving of assistance and studying in any faculty at the University. The Council has agreed to the foundation of an endowed scholarship on the terms declared in these rules.


George Washington Walker Trust Bank Perpetual Undergraduate Scholarship

The Trust Bank has provided the University of Tasmania Foundation Inc. with a gift of $75,000 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Hobart Savings Bank. The gift is to be used to endow a scholarship named after George Washington Walker, the founder of that bank. The scholarship is to be awarded to Tasmanian students at the University of Tasmania studying in either commerce or economics.


Grant Scholarship

Mrs James Murray in the year 1934 paid to the University of Tasmania a sum of £1000 to form the endowment for a scholarship in commemoration of her parents, Charles Henry Grant and Jane Grant. The scholarship shall be awarded annually in rotation amongst schools to a candidate in the faculties of Arts, Science, Engineering and Technology, Law , Commerce, Health Science, and Education in that order.


Joyce Griston Memorial Tasmania University Scholarship

Mr Basil Griston has bequeathed at least $300,000 to the University. Mr Griston has asked that the gift be used to endow a scholarship in honour of his sister Joyce, and that the scholarship be awarded to Tasmanian students deserving of assistance and studying in any faculty at the University. The Council has agreed to the foundation of an endowed scholarship on the terms declared in these rules.


Sir Geoffrey Foot Award

Whereas the Settlor is desirous of establishing a Trust Fund to be held in perpetuity for the purpose of promoting education in the fields of Accountancy Commerce and Economics at the University of Tasmania.
