For those who seek to become financial planners or who seek an understanding of how to develop their own financial plan, this unit introduces financial planning. It provides sound understanding of the process of financial planning, together with some of the fundamental skills and knowledge required in professional practice. The unit examines what is involved in organising and managing an individual’s financial resources, and how to protect, maximise and enjoy the benefits obtained from these resources. The unit follows a practical approach to the subject, taking students through the key areas of developing a financial plan, borrowing and credit, insurance, investment, taxation, superannuation, social security and retirement.
