Teenage Witchcraft

Based on ninety long interviews with young Witches from the United States, England, and Australia, teenagers' journeys to becoming Witches, their practices, concerns, interests, and the responses of their parents are explored.

The growing interest in Witchcraft among the young in the West is viewed within the context of a growing occult milieu, particularly as displayed within the mass media. Youth are not, however, being seduced into Witchcraft, but instead are being stimulated to investigate the religion.

Those who choose to become Witches view the religion as helping them tackle a variety of problems in their personal life, such low self-esteem and the need to improve relationships, and helping them to flourish in an increasingly diverse and changing social environment.
