Career Summary
Sandra has recently been appointed Professor and Head of Social Work in the School of Sociology and Social Work. She has long standing professional social work experience in the health area including genetic services, community health, mental health, disability, aged care and rehabilitation services and acute hospital services, primarily in New South Wales and Tasmania. Sandra has published widely in the health and genetics area and maintains strong research interest in the social, ethical and legal aspects of human genetic technologies. Recent Australia Research Council-funded projects include a collaborative investigation of genetic discrimination in Australia and a study relating to gender and genetic risk.
