Anna Alomes is a philosopher, with interests in nonviolence, reconciliation, restorative practices, human rights, exceptional leadership, and applied ethics.


Anna spoke at a Circle of Nations Gathering for Peace with Native American Elders in Canada and has enjoyed working in South Africa and also with Tibetan and Indian colleagues on nonviolence and harm minimization projects for part of each year. She spent the past few years working in New Delhi on the monograph Towards a Nonviolent Mind with the late Shri Ravindra Varma and contributed to the recent publication from Nova out of New York: Nonviolence: An Alternative for Defeating Global Terror(ism), with an Introduction by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Teaching

Anna has previously been an ethics instructor for Tasmania Police for all trainee and promotional courses and has enjoyed collaborative work in statewide nursing ethics, medicine and pharmacy ethical framework, completed a collaborative project on Exceptional Leadership and also works on codes of conduct with public sector managers.
